There’s often something mysterious going on in the fabulous works of Jon Klassen. To figure it out, one must collect the pieces of the puzzle from his muted color palette and the shapes and textures that become figures and landscapes. It all comes together to form a sometimes eerie storyline that runs through all of his work. With the many dimensional landscapes and layers it’s no surprise that many of his pieces form the framework for more interactive animations and short movies.
His blog has a large collection of work and he’s also represented by Nucleus Gallery, which showcases his large scale pieces.
