Even though we mostly focus on graphic design here at These Giants, we often come across some traditional Fine Art work that is worth noting. Such is the case with Ontario partners Xenia Taler and Steven Koblinsky, who design and make some exceptionally illustrated hand painted tiles. The tiles are pressed into wooden dies in order to achieve a roughened and rustic appareance. Each tile is entirely hand painted without the use of stencils or screens. Because all the tiles are handmade, there are variations in shade, color and hand painting are inherent. You can check out her home filled with ideas on how to display the tiles here.
