The work of Timm Koelln is easily recognizable for its photo journalistic style. A regular contributor to Rouleur Magazine, his work has garnered much deserved attention.

Lyne Lamoureux
Lyne is a writer and photographer with a focus on cycling. Her blog Podium Insight, covers the North American road – and cyclocross – races and people that inhabit that world. Check her portfolio site which is equally impressive.

Leigh Schilling
Photographer Leigh Schilling, based in Melbourne Australia, has a nice collection of work on Flickr to go along with his studio site.

Daniel Sharp

365 pictures by Julie G Longino

Here is another well executed exercise in creativity. Atlanta photographer Julie G Longino has been taking and posting photos onto her site, 365 Days 365 Pictures, every day this year. By documenting the world around her, a visual diary emerges that is at times magical and also whimsical. We’re looking forward to seeing how the year ends and if she’ll continue for another 365 days.

Photography: The 50 States Project

Here is a project worthy of mention: The 50 States Project sent out invitations this year to one photographer in every state of the US asking them to capture their home state (and photography style) through five different assignments. I have collected a few of my favorites here, which represent just a slice of the broad range of styles and insightful dialogue that goes on between the photographer and their surroundings.

The 50 State Project:

Pictured is Todd Stewart’s Untitled from the Landscape assignment.

The five assignments include People, Habitat, Landscape and Industry with a final one to be announced in November 2009.

With less than 2 years of professional work behind her, 21 year old Singaporean fashion photographer Zhang Jingna (aka zemotion) has an impressive portfolio which includes companies like Ogilvy & Mather, Pond’s, Mont Blanc, Sony, Mercedes Benz Taiwan, Architecture International and Wacom, and organizations like The Arts House and Lasalle College of the Arts. She has also produced fashion editorial work for magazines like Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Men’s Folio and Gothic & Lolita Bible.

In 2007, she became the youngest ever recipient of Associateship in the Masters Photographers Association, and also was awarded the Singapore Master Photographer award that same year. She is also one of the most popular artists at deviantArt, a community art site, with almost 15 million image views of her work. Her blog is also updated regularly with some insightful posts and recent work.
